Vicky Dixon

Principle Social Worker

What do you do at Carefree?

I am a principal Social Worker – I supervise some of Carefree’s PAs and our separated Children Seeking Asylum workers. We support the team to deliver the best service they can to our young people.

What do you like about working at Carefree?

I am proud to be a part of the Carefree team – everyone is so lovely, cares a lot about what they do and the young people they support, and the team makes a huge difference to young people in Cornwall. My work feels meaningful and important, and it’s a great team!

Can you say a bit about your past experience and qualifications?

I have worked in the safeguarding field or with young people for the past 12 years. I trained as a Social Worker in Cornwall and obtained by Postgraduate Diploma in Social Work, and have since worked within the Child Protection team and the NHS Adult Safeguarding team. Part of my training was with 16+ Team and I am very happy to be back to support the work of Carefree.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

I am a keen dancer – if not at work I’m likely rehearsing or performing somewhere, or spending time with my family. I have a 2.5 year old who keeps me busy!
