What do you do at Carefree?
I am a Tenancy Support Worker.
I support Young People to live independently by providing skills, knowledge and coaching to maintain their tenancies.
What do you like about working at Carefree?
I like working with Young People.
I enjoy being in a role where we can provide practical and meaningful support to Young People. It is a supportive environment to work in. It was founded from the needs of Young People with them being at the centre and voicing what they would like to happen. They are at the heart of what we do.
Can you say a bit about your past experience and qualifications?
I have recently been a team leader for Mid Cornwall for a national drug and alcohol service. I am experienced with working with vulnerable adults, children and young people with different needs. I have mainly worked as a Recovery Coordinator. However, at the start of my career, I worked as a Youth Worker in Cornwall. I have a HND in Youth, Community and Development Studies from Plymouth University and have also worked as a Youth Worker in Cornwall for Cornwall County Council.
