What do you do at Carefree?

I work remotely supporting the Finance Manager, with all monitoring and reporting of Carefree’s finances including paying suppliers, invoicing funders, bank recs, overseeing payroll and answering any questions.

What do you like about working at Carefree?

Working alongside an amazing team of supportive & empathic individuals who are passionate and committed to their work and wanting the highest and best outcome for the young people involved.

Can you say a bit about your past experience and qualifications?

I grew up in a very remote area in the Lizard Peninsula and moved to London at the age of 17 where I have been working since in finance and admin in a variety sectors based in central London & local to where I currently live. I started my working life as a trainee in Harrods, and I then moved into finance work including BBC, BHS, HMV etc. After my son was born in 2000 I entered into the charity sector, locally employed by LTL on School community programmes and my last position before Carefree, a community centre supporting and running activities for the older community and in the afternoons taken over by a noisy after school club for 4-11 year olds.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

Variety of things – From walking my beautiful dog amongst nature, an occasional gong bath to live theatre & music. I love travelling and visiting new places especially beautiful landscapes. I also enjoy in depth conversations about mysteries of life, watching ancient history documentaries and supernatural series.
