Food and Nutrition
Food is an important part of daily life and what you eat will provide the energy you need to get through the day, nutrients to help your body grow and repair and will effect your strength, health and mood. However, we know that it can be hard to focus on your diet if you’re struggling in other areas of life.
You don’t have to make big changes and adding things to your diet rather than restricting or taking things away can be easier. Try some of the tips below and see what works for you.
- Add red lentils to a pasta sauce or shepherd’s pie for an extra fibre kick
- A serving of vegetables doesn’t have to be a pile of cabbage or a big salad. A tablespoon of tomato puree stirred into a sauce, some olives instead of crisps or carrot sticks and humus all count
- Try in drink 2/3 glasses of water throughout the day.
- Try a new recipe…we have some great recipes tried and tested at our groups here.
