Introducing Planet Carefree
We are delighted to introduce ‘Planet Carefree’, a film created by a group of care leavers as part of their ongoing campaign to make cultural spaces more accessible to care-experienced young people.
The Planet Carefree project builds on the success of Carefree’s Culture Card campaign, which has so far engaged 30 Cornish museums, art galleries, National Trust and English Heritage properties to give free entry to care leavers.
The film highlights some of the barriers that care-experienced young people may face when going to a museum or art gallery for the first time. It also offers suggestions to help cultural centres overcome those barriers and make themselves truly accessible spaces for everyone.
‘Planet Carefree’ is being shown to staff working in cultural spaces as part of their accessibility training. This training is led by care-experienced young people from Carefree.
