All Together For Team Day
In July, the Carefree team went back to its roots, getting together for a team day at BF Adventure where seventeen years earlier our CEO Mari hosted her first activity with young people. This day was a precious opportunity for our growing team to build between us the same positive relationships we strive to build with our young people.
The day began with a big catch-up and brainstorm of solutions to some of the challenges the team faces when trying to provide the best offer for our young people. It was amazing to see the range of expertise and experiences around the room all being channelled into innovative and creative problem-solving. Things only got more creative when we were all asked to design a postcard to represent our experience of Carefree for the Museum of Carefree project. From sketches of fire-lighting to rhyming poems they provided the opportunity to get an insight into the most fulfilling moments each member of the team has had whilst working here and got us all excited for the many more to come in the future.
We were blessed with a beautiful summers day so after lunch we were relieved when we finally got to jump in the lake below the quarry. With some floating elegantly by in Canadian canoes and paddle boards, others bobbing along in life jackets and the braver amongst the group taking leaps off ledges into the water below. We finished by building a huge raft to safely paddle us all back to shore The day revealed that Carefree staff enjoy a good outdoor activity and bit of silliness just as much as our young people.
