What do you do at Carefree?

I am the social work manager at Carefree. I am responsible for our team of personal advisors. I also get involved with lots of other stuff eg Arts programmes and it seems that I have become the ‘official photographer’ for Carefree.

What do you like about working at Carefree?

I work with a fantastic bunch of people who are all so passionate about what they do and want to make a difference in the lives of the young people that we work with. It’s also a lot of fun, some days it doesn’t feel like work!!

Can you say a bit about your past experience and qualifications?

I have been a social worker for over 40 years now (scary). In the past I have worked for a number of organisations and for a while I ran my own training and consultancy business. Before coming to Carefree the main focus of my work was in adoption and fostering.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

I love photography and creating images. I also enjoy painting and sketching and love being outdoors. My children recently bought me a kayak for my birthday so I am enjoying learning to paddle on the Fal. I also love spending time with the grandchildren especially when it involves making sandcastles on the beach.
